The activities undertaken within Stage I contributed to the development and expansion of knowledge regarding synthesis and characterization of polyester-based copolymers, the development of analytical skills for synthesis and interpretation of results; the dissemination of results and the formation of new collaborations with universities and institutes abroad which contributed to the consolidation of research skills.

Our approach aims to improve quality of life and has a clear social dimension. Economically, controlled delivery systems may reduce dosing frequency, enhance drug effectiveness at the target site, and lower treatment costs for patients with oral infections. Scientifically, the impact will be reflected in published papers. Additionally, two PhD students and one postdoctoral fellow will receive advanced training, increasing the international visibility of these young researchers.
